It is the end of June and we are currently experiencing a record breaking heat wave. It’s very normal for summer temperatures to be between 20-26 C but right now it’s been above 30 C and closer to 35 C for the past few days.
Personally, I don’t have a problem with the heat.
Yes, it is more challenging to find ways to stay cool but it really just reminds me of being back in Mexico.
In Mexico, if I don’t have access to a swimmable body of water, there are 2 things that I do to stay cool: take multiple cold showers during the day and drink lots of cold drinks.
In our fridge we always have a jug that full of cold water to drink OR we make agua fresca with the fresh fruit that we get from the property we live on (starfruit and soursop) or picking fruit off trees that produce fruit on the street or in public areas (mangos).
For me, even though there still is sugar in the agua fresca, I still consider it a way healthier alternative to soft drinks like Coca-cola.
